Technology Meets Community: Why Source 1 Solutions Invests in Kindness

As Kind Camp celebrated its 10th anniversary, Source 1 Solutions supported a program that proves technology may power businesses, but humanity is the source code behind everything we do.

For the past two weeks, children across Tampa Bay traded screen time for something far more meaningful. At Kind Camp 2026, young Lords and Ladies learned the value of kindness, respect, confidence, leadership, manners, and service. Through hands-on activities, community projects, and mentorship from high school and college “Big Buddies,” they discovered that some of life’s most important lessons aren’t found behind a keyboard; they’re found in how we treat one another.

For Source 1 Solutions, supporting Kind Camp isn’t simply about sponsorship. It’s about culture. Every company has a mission. Every technology company has a code. At Source 1 Solutions, we believe the most important source code isn’t written in software; it’s written in humanity. While our teams deliver technology solutions around the world, we’re equally committed to strengthening the communities where our employees, clients, and families live.

That commitment is reflected through the Hessel Family Foundation, which this year welcomed Sharri Cagle, founder of Keys to Kindness, as its Executive Director. Together, the Foundation and Keys to Kindness continue expanding opportunities for children and families across Tampa Bay through programs like Kind Camp.

Over the past decade, Kind Camp has become one of the region’s most inspiring summer programs, teaching children that kindness isn’t simply something we talk about, it’s something we practice every day.

“Technology helps connect businesses, but kindness connects people,” said Robert Hessel, CEO of Source 1 Solutions and Co-Founder of the Hessel Family Foundation. “For 10 years, Sharri has created an incredible program that teaches children confidence, compassion, leadership, and respect. We’re more than willing to support her vision through the Hessel Family Foundation and help ensure Kind Camp continues making a lasting difference for children and families throughout our community.”

As another successful Kind Camp comes to a close, its impact will continue long after summer ends. The friendships formed, the confidence gained, and the lessons learned by this year’s Lords and Ladies will help shape the next generation of leaders throughout our community.

Because technology powers our business. Humanity is our source code.
